Preparing a Surprise

ANA arrived today. After more than a month of vacation at home in the province, she went back here in Manila, because classes are starting soon -- and also to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. It would be lonely and so nonsense if she would spend her debut alone and without anything.

Speaking of her birthday, after dismissal while ago, I bought a gift for her. Actually, I’ve been thinking and planning what to do about it since yesterday. I decided to give her a journal. I had a bad time picking up a good one. I chose a red one designed with silver message writings on its rubber cover, secured with a red garter tie. Just hope she’ll like it.

I also wrote a letter (just finished it actually) and inserted it between some pages of the notebook. I wasn’t able to -- or should I say I didn’t -- buy a gift wrapper. I was planning on just buying one tomorrow. But I suddenly changed my mind so I just put my gift on a plastic (at least I chose a pretty special one) and put it inside her wardrobe. I was thinking of how to put it -- on the surface so that she can easily see it once she opens her closet, or under her clothes so that she won’t be able to see it immediately and to just notice it when time comes that she realizes there’s something in there? I decided to do the later. Even if she will be able to see it at a later time, at least she will read my letter dated 6-18. That enough will signify it’s not a late but just a secret present.
